Boating in Port Severn

Port Severn is where the Trent–Severn Waterway meets Georgian Bay. Lock 45, the last lock on the system, lifts boats between the Severn River and the bay, and the area's marinas, cottages and docks keep the water busy all summer. It's also our home base.

If you boat on the Severn River, Gloucester Pool, Six Mile Lake or out into Severn Sound and the open bay, Boatworks is just down the road. That makes end-of-season drop-off and spring pick-up about as easy as it gets.

Good to know

Local boaters split their time between sheltered river and lake water and the bigger water of Georgian Bay. Both are hard on a finish in their own way: algae and tannin staining on inland water, and sun and wind exposure out on the bay. A spring detail and a ceramic coating are a good way to keep ahead of it.
